What would pricing run on a job like that? That is the look I am going for, stock-ish but updated looking.

Re: Look at this custom Dash Cluster !

And please note....THAT CLOCK does NOT exist anywhere. AutoMeter does not have a 3-3/8" Phantom clock!!!! That was made from scratch. (Pain in the hiney actually, but I wasn't going to let it beat me)

Thanks for the compliments folks.

Nope. Not a trade secret, so I don't mind spilling the beans....And this is my second cluster that has the same clock installed

I found an OEM clock from a 1985-ish Monte Carlo (or El Camino).
Then I found a good photo of an AutoMeter Phantom clock.
Enlarged it and made some corrections (had to remove clock hands from photo).
Printed it on high gloss photo paper on a color laser printer
Cut it to fit the factory clock "bucket".
Repainted the needles.
Created a front (plexi glass)
Custom made a halo ring from scratch to illuminate it since the factory lighting was no longer an option.

****NOTE**** I have spent nearly 3 days working on just the clock. I have a better idea for the next one that should cut it down to a day or so, but that IS a trade secret (at least until I try it myself)

And there you have it.

Now, for bonus points, can anyone tell me what is out of place on the HHR in the background (and it isn't the headlight tint).....

Re: Look at this custom Dash Cluster !

I took the easy way, drilled a 2 1/16th hole where you got that clock and installed it.

That is a tinted side marker, but that isn't it. (Okay, I'll award half-points).

Woohoo! I'll have to keep that in mind.

So do they bolt right on?

Almost. The front does require a 5 mm spacer to keep the rim from touching a bracket on the strut. And spacing them out leaves fewer threads to attach to with the lugs. I just haven't installed longer studs yet.
Went from 16" to 18". And they need "Bowtie" center caps.

Well, the Monte Carlo clock fit perfectly. EXACTLY the size of the bezel opening....BUT...they are black-faced. We had to make it match the Phantoms. Then I just went off the deep end with the mounting so it can all be removed as a unit if he ever wants to replace the front bezel with solid black, solid chrome, or a wood-grain one.
