Suburban passenger window install

Hi all,

I gutted my suburban a long time ago for a restore. Since disassembly is always much easier than a flawless assembly, I am looking for step-by-step list of instructions on how to re-install the wondows for the rear passenger-door area.

I'm assuming the stationary window goes in first, then the post/track, then the roller window? I tried this, but am having difficulty.

If you've got a list of steps, please let me know. Your expertise greatly appreciated.

Thanks much.

Re: Suburban passenger window install

I did mine a looooong time ago, but I do remember that the big glass went in first then the small glass second.

I do remember that I had to loosen all of the mechanisms, so that I could shift things around more easily.

Do you have the "Big book" on your year of truck? There are some pretty good sections in there on a the doors, and it saved my bacon more than a few times doing stuff like this.

Re: Suburban passenger window install

Hi vectorit,

When you say the "big book", are you referring to the "1967-72 Truck Assembly Manual?" Or, are you referring to an owners manual?

I do have the Assembly Manual, but didn't see anything in there that helped me much. But, I may have missed it, as there is a lot of info in it.

Thanks again.

Re: Suburban passenger window install

I put the window glass and track in first, then the stationary window. I had to work around the A/C lines, but got it in.

Re: Suburban passenger window install

Thanks guys.

That's two that recall the main window dropping in first, so I'll go with it.

I take off for Arizona tomorrow for vacation, but will give it another shot in a couple weeks when I return.
