Thanks and acknowledgement!

Thanks to a board member here "Lemield", I scored a nice pair of 6x9 speakers:

Thanks Larry - - - I fabbed a couple of simple wooden boxes to go under the seat of my stepper. Got them installed and THEY ROCK ! !
I have a Solidworks model of the boxes, if anyone is interested. Built both out of one 2' x 4' - 1/2' cabinet grade plywood ($5.95@ Lowe's). Couple hours with a table saw, some wood glue and small brads and I now have the most jammin' stereo system I've ever had.

~ $22.00 total and I'm blown away. THANKS LARRY

Toby

I like to try to help out when I can....

Toby....I'm so glad those speakers worked out for you! I had them under the seat too and they sounded good in my truck.

Re: Thanks and acknowledgement!

Greetings, Larry:

Sorry I take so long to reply! Since I " retired", I've been busier than a one-legged man in a butt kickin' contest. I've been remounting the bed and re-wiring the whole back-end. Got it all done! (That's a whole 'nother post)
During all that I attempted to pull one of the boxes out from under the seat but it won't come out without hitting the cross-wire for the seat. Did the next best thing, just for your edification. Here's a jpg file made from the Solidwork file. Painted 'em black, mounted the speakers with some stout woodscrews in pre-drilled holes. Had the seat out when I finally set them in place. Didn't realize they wouldn't slide out. I since modified the SW file. Mine are actually 1/2" taller (learn from my mistakes).

ENJOY!

Re: Thanks and acknowledgement!

Those boxes look good. Mine are in wedge shaped boxes in my CST and required that I completely disconnect the wire for seat adjustment. Thankfully, I set the seat all the way back and it works fine for me since I'm the only one who drives my truck. In my C20, I have flat style boxes like the ones you made but they also interfered with the seat wire so it's out of that truck too.
