well.. i moved the bags and reinforce the trailing arms and things are working great. i think i have decided that i am going to chop the top 3-4". any tips or input would be great. i havent ever done anything like this before but i believe i can handle it. i know a guy that has doen them and i am going to see if he will help. i would also like to rake the winshield back a bit. i photoshopped a mock up and i really like the way it is going to look. i'm not going to start until after a show may 17-18. but then it will be on! pics would be nice to help motivate me. thanks

i dont like a chopped top on a stock or "little bit of drop" stance. just looks out of proportion. i think it will do my truck justice. also, does anyone know where i can get a windshield for the truck after it is chopped, and about how much? or is it possible to cut my existing one? thanks for the input guys

lotik, the way that I like them, and how I want to do mine is,
to take out the 2 inches underneath the back glass, bringing the back window down even with the door glass, and raking the windsheild back, this way there is no need to cut any glass, unless you plan on having wing windows, which I don't, It gives the truck a smoother look that makes people scratch there heads,
wondering whats been done.

This looks a whole lot like a "local" truck ... I spotted this truck, or its "twin" last year at a local show and I ask the "kid" (16-17 years old) driving it where he got the glass cut for the windshield ...

His reply to me was: "Hell ... any glass shop can do it for ya."

My reply: "Did you buy the truck already finished?"

His reply: "Yeah, how did you know?"

I said: "Lucky guess, I suppose."

I then complimented him on his truck and walked away ... kinda giggling to my self.

Just cuz he's a 16-17 yr old kid doesnt mean he can't build a kick ass truck! i'm 16, just bought (yes I bought with MY money) a 70 chevy c10 that i'm restorin. pickin up my grandpa's 70 chevy longbed first week of june in indiana and towin it back to texas! It'll be a nice summer project. Any suggestions on anything are appreciated.

I wasn't insinuating that because he was 16 or 17 he COULDN'T build a kick-ass truck ... I was just saying that once he made the statement about "any glass shop can do it for ya" I knew he DIDN'T build the truck. If you ever have glass cut, then you will know what I am talking about.

Here is where mine is cut. About a two inch chop and a stock windshield. If you just drop the rear window down like was suggested earlier you will only have to do the doors.

i like the idea of that. but is a 2" inch chop going to be worth the effort? i mean could have just bagged my truck, but i wanted it lay body so i needed a 3" body drop. see my point. but scing the price of new glass is something to consider. i think the chop i did in my past was along the lines of 2-3". but the one XXL posted is really sick looking.
