ECE vs. CPP

I'm doing the whole suspension rebuild/drop thing in the next month and am just about ready to start ordering parts. Anyone have good/bad dealings with these two companies? They both seem to make some high quality parts and are very knowledgeable, but currently I'm leaning towards the CPP Grand Slam Kit and a couple more accessories from them.

The plan is a 2.5/4 drop(spindles in front) with disc in front and the master cylinder/booster set up for 4-wheel discs

I think CCP use Western Chassis Spindles What kit are you getting ? Is it the one that allows you to use 73 up brakes ? If so I have some tips for you. Let me know. Either Company has good parts.

the kit i was looking used 73-up ball joints, brakes, etc (that's how i understood the guy on the phone) have you used that kit mario?

ECE all the way. Even though CCP is a good company and i got nothing bad to say about them. I personally trust ECE alot more and they build there product to fit your truck. Not making you build around there products.

Yepper .

Here is the trick. Hope you have the center link with the small holes in it if not you will have to find one. I had a hard time trying to figure out why my tie rods went right thur the holes. I learned that there were two diffirent styles that came on our trucks One had huge holes that the tie rods bolted in the other style(the one you need) has small holes. Now you use 67-70 outer tie rods on the inner. (not a error) You may need to cut a bit off them to allow eough adjustment so that you can get enogh toe in. Use 73 up flex hoses I will post a pic showing them on my frame. I think thats all.

The hole you need is already in the frame.

thanks for the info, i have a couple center links laying around. pretty sure that i have at least one of each style....is that pic of the hoses that come with the kit?

I had to buy these hoses they were cheep. 20 bucks CDN. I like the kit once I figured out how everything went together. I also choose this kit because you can get more redeally avaible brake parts for your truck and they are also a bit cheeper. Hope this helps.

I bought a 3"/5" kit from Early Classics - springs, shocks, rear shock relocation mounts and panhard bar. I know it's not the same, but I got it done in a day.

When I decided to rebuild my front end, I bought the kit from CPP. It took a little longer and I had to order lower A frames cuz mine were split, but the kit was excellent.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, you can't go wrong with either of these companies.
