Oops, I did find one in the archive from the 60-66 crowd. I'll have a look at that one.

Re: Anyone do the T-5 transmission Swap?

I just saw that article the other day. I am running a T5 in my truck, but I don't have the hybrid Camaro/S-10 kind. Mine came from an 83 Camaro and I just threw it in there. It replaced my 4 speed Saginaw from a Camaro, so it fits good in between my bucket seats. All I had to do was have the drive shaft shortened 3 1/2 inches. I did not add a rear crossmember and the only problem I have had in the 3 years since I have had it was a cracked tooth in the counter gear.

Re: Anyone do the T-5 transmission Swap?

I recently did an S-10 T-5 swap. There is a great How-To in the Drivetrain forum here.

I still have a few odds and ends to finish up before doing my own DIY article here. This was a Three On The Tree conversion.

Drops 600 RPM in fifth! Def worth it. Cost me about $500 in total - some junkyarding and some new parts compilation.

I have!

Did you have a question regarding something? It's super easy and cheap and the finished product makes it worth it. I recommend it to anyone who wants an overdrive manual!

Re: Anyone do the T-5 transmission Swap?

I have one planned for my 70 swb that currently has a 327 3ott in it now. I have gathered a camaro t-5 and clutch disc and pp and flywheel .also I have a s10 t-5 so as to change the tail and top. I have a tilt column out of a van that I shaved the shifter humps off of and filled in the gear indicator and plan to install the tilt when the trans change over is done.

Re: Anyone do the T-5 transmission Swap?

kev, you mentioned you saw a 60-66 thread - my apologies if you've already seen this, but here's how I did mine in my 66. If you have a bench seat and are using/need to use an S10 tailshaft, this might be helpful. Although there's many threads out there that are.
I really enjoy the T5 I've got in mine now. Good luck! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=482069
