Pull-A-Part Prices

Pulled an HEI distributor out of a K10 at my local pull-a-part today. Got to the counter and the gal rang up; distributor $29.99, distributor cap $10.99, and coil $15.99. Total $56.97. I attempted to reason that I should get the whole thing for $29.99 (not a great deal anyway since new assemblies on eBay are $38). She says, "I've worked on cars before, I know what things are, and I'm honest." I didn't want to compromise her integrity so I left it on the counter.

Still got the 4bbl Q-jet for $25.

I had heard before examples of pull-a-part prices being near new but this was the first time they wanted to charge me more than new for a greasy used part I had to stand on my head and take off myself.

Re: Pull-A-Part Prices

Yeah, the WS Pull a part is pretty fairly priced.Just need to do your homework before you go.I don't think I've ever been charges for miscattached parts like a DC.I haven't been in a couple of months tho. They're pretty skimpy on 67-72 trucks here.

Re: Pull-A-Part Prices

I got 2 nice trim rings, 3 centercaps with lug covers, 2 radio antennas with the mount thru the fender and cable, and a gentec auto dim inside rearview mirror with wiring today for $21.15 at Atlanta South. I do the same, sometimes they're not realistic for a used part and I'll leave it, but for the most part they've got the best deal going by a long shot.

Re: Pull-A-Part Prices

At the picknpulls around here they yank all the good stuff before the vehicles even make it into the yard. Not even worth the effort to go for a walk.
