Wheel & tire advice lots of questions

I have decided to change wheels out on my 57 with stock front suspension. Really leaning towards corvette rally style wheels. Need 6 lug. Plan to lower a little but nothing too drastic and also plan on upgrading to disks in front at some point.
Any advantage going 16 over 15?
Will 8 inch wide work all around or should I go 7 wide in front.
Tire sizes?
Which center caps work with drums up front?
Told ya I had lots of questions..if anyone has pictures of these whels on a 55-57 truck, please post.
Thanks.

Doug
Are you on stock suspension?

Anyone think the extra diameter of going with 16s is worth the cost over 15s?

Re: Wheel & tire advice lots of questions

We had a set of those on my son's 70 longbed in the mid 80's and they look good on the older trucks. We had stock rear caps for a 4x4 on all four corners with the rings. I don't know of anything else that goes on them right off.

15 vs 16 = personal preference and how you use the truck and what look you want. If you want a more cruiser look I'd go with the 15 inchers. If you want it to look more like a serious truck and you actually use it as a truck I'd go 16 inch.

The truck rally wheels are one of the few choices for wheels for a pickup that seem to look great on any year of GM truck From AD up through the 80's square body trucks. As long as they fit the style of the build they fit in great and even look good on trucks that are otherwise restored to original and don't distract from the original look.

Re: Wheel & tire advice lots of questions

whell size is directly related to your scrub line. I'm using 3" drop axle so I have to go with 16's

i coulndt agree more. i have some in 6 and 5 lug i keep laying around in case i buy another truck.

LMC sells the car ( corvette, camaro) rallys in CHROME ONLY, re-popped. 15x8 @ 149.95 and 15x10 @ 189.95. 6x5.5 lug pattern. the rally center caps are 69.95, and they also sell the trim rings.
