dbombs53 short box

my buddie (dbombs53)dom-aka mr auto interior king, does some of the baddest interiors in az, we met at a swap meet him and his two boys a few years back and we hit it off . Dom is the duude that did my prostreet interior and its super simple but very cool and clean. After my truck was at his house for a few days he was ready to get his truck bagged. fast foward a few months and i had dom bring his truck over the house.DOM pulled the motor and and sand plasted the and clean up the frame which made thing easy for joe to bang it out,Joe pancake the crossmember, moved the steering box up and notched frame for the steering link, then joe shorted the colum 3" which in the cab is great room.3" drop spindles, disc brakes, and small rear notch.the rear wheels were the wrong bolt pattern so we pulled the axle and i had the centers machined to fit the hub and redrilled 5 on 5 .check it out

Re: dbombs53 short box

Much thanks to Joe and Dino for getting my bucket bagged! Dino let me use his shop to have Joe fab up the suspension. I wish I took more pictures along the way, but I find myself working on everyone else ride. After checking out Dloes65 build, I am convinced to reinstall my 250 online 6. So if anyone out there has any experience with a 250 mated up with a 700r, I could use any info and suggestions.

if you go with the 250 six the trans you want is the 2004r because the 700 has a big differance between 1st and 2nd--big drop in gear . the 2004r 1st and 2nd are closer and the six likes this much better. alot of things you can do to the six. check out inliners.org they have some crazy guys there that know these motors well.

Thanks for that info. I was going to use the 700r, because I already had one. But now the hunt is on. And I'm gonna check out that web site right now, Thanks.

Re: dbombs53 short box

Just ran the numbers on my motor, found out its a 292. My motor had 86,000 original miles. Ran good. After talking to forum members, I decided to srick with the inline 6. I ordered a gasket kit, got a header and some fresh cans of paint to detail it out. I plan on having alot of this done this weekend. Before I reinstall the motor, I'm gonna repaint the firewall. Thanks to Derek,"DLOE65" for the niformation on my motor and trans.
Also scored some chevy luv dog dish caps off ebay.

The header is a long tube, I'll cut it down so it sucks inside the frame.

Got my motor stripped down, and cleaned every spec of grease and oil. Motor tims strong, I'm gonna seal it up, and stab it back in. I'll be upgrading to a mini HEI, chopping down my long tube headers, and detail it out, hoping for as original as possible. A friend of Dinos, Rob, hooked me up with a tall weld in c notch, ill install this week. And my hubcaps just came in.1972 Chevy luv...
