Poll : Please help me choose my interior color

Some may have seen the truck before, but I have a 70 GMC Sierra Grande. the factory interior color was 'Gold' on the SPID. The color is really light tan, not really parchment and not saddle. I haven't seen too many with this color but that's a bad thing too. I'm having trouble finding the right color for the seat covers. I have a set of buckets and console going in this truck if that changes your opinion, the bench has been sold.

More or less I'm considering changing to Black. Should I do Black with the 69/70 scroll, or maybe Black / Tan houndstooth ? Black / White houndstooth ?

The carpet is black, the steering column has been painted tan to match the original color. The glove box door is also tan.

I even considered red, red / black houndstooth. If I do that, I'm afraid the column and dash top would look goofy. It also has a tan colored headliner in it now.

Before I buy my door panels I just want to decide on a color a little easier to find than the tan ones. Classic Industries offers a 'Sandalwood' Color bucket seat cover and I have a set on backorder but I'm not sure I'm going to get them. CI is having problems getting them from their vendor.

Here's the truck. It will be dropped soon, Billets, etc. More pics in my thread.

Black / tan houndstooth ? .. that's kind-of where I'm leaning. Black console, carpet, 70-71 CST door panels. Sound good?

Have you tried Truckworld or SMS fabric for the original materials? Keeping it original would be the obvious best choice if at all possible.

I'm with Tim on this one. If you can't go original I'd vote for Black/Tan...although an all Red interior would be killer in this truck.
It's a great piece to work with....

Re: Poll : Please help me choose my interior color

Let me add .. on a semi-budget ? I'm thinking maybe some of the 'Truckseats' covers? I have them on the buckets in my other truck and I really like them..

I hate decisions.

Re: Poll : Please help me choose my interior color

Just my opinion,... but houndstooth is overdone.
I like the idea of original '70 bucket seat upholstery.
Its not a design you see every day.

I still like red.
Especially 1970 bright red.
Use the deluxe '70 door panels.
Paint the column and dash top black.
Keep your original gmc glovebox door, (since it contains the original SPID),... and swap in a nice black replacement.

Sorry that wasn't one of your choices,...

Re: Poll : Please help me choose my interior color

Have you tried contacting some of the vendors..I was looking for 50th anniversary gold and wasn't available in catalogs but when I called them they had it for another car that they could use to make the ones I wanted most of the seat cover vendors cover other makes and models and have other material that may not be listed I would try to keep original color if I could find it at all just think it looks better and is different. Like to see variety and get tired of seeing the same thing everyone else has. I talked to the vendor that Dave's Truck Parts in Claremont, NC uses Dave was real helpful and I told him I was going to order through him anyway and he gave me the guys number then, but ti has been a few years back, like 3 or 4 so I don't have to give to you. The vendor was one that a lot of them use and the special ordered color was going to take 6 weeks to put together. they can also make the door panels to match out of same color as they made them too...think guys name I talked was Kevin, but not 100% sure on it...If you can at all keep the original color...I love it and you just don't see it
