AJ: Gtuned's '62 GMC Stepside

Hey guys, figured I'd start a thread for my truck up on here.
This is AJ, my 62 GMC Stepside. After looking up some info, i've managed to find out she was made at the GMC only plant in Pontiac Michigan, and I believe sold in Alabama, then somehow went to New Mexico and then to NY where I got her.
She started out rough,

Paint was the worst respray i've ever seen, the cam was near nothing, but she ran/runs pretty good.

As for what's been done,
  • Cam Replaced
  • Repainted + dents fixed
  • Turning signal MacGuyver'd for now
  • New roll on bedliner

And what she still needs...
  • New Rims + Tires
  • Seat cover
  • Headlights/taillights/turning signals
  • Bumpers
  • Turning Signal Mechanism
  • Spedometer checked
My original plan was this

A mix of both American, Tuner, and Euro as I love just about every bit of car culture, but as of now, it may be the same to a degree, going with a new Orange/White scheme plus hopefully some JDM/Euro elements.
Here she is currently, with more work still needing to bedone, but looking good in the new Chrome Orange.

Now this is where I need your help everyone,
The turning signal is kinda busted, if not reset to dead center, it knocks a taillight connection out, and I really don't need to give the local cops any more of a reason to pull me over.
I ordered a 60-66 part, but when I pulled the wheel off, I found this.

And I have no idea what year or make or what that it's from.
Whoever had Her before me reaallllly changed her up and for the worse it seems.

I don't know the answer to your steering column question, but welcome to the forum! Always nice to see someone with fresh ideas.
