my 56 hydromatic build

I have always hung out in the squarebody forum with my 84 scottsdale LQ4 swap. March of this year, I was able to purchase a 56 Chevy 3100 Hydramatic from 2nd owner. It has sat behind his shed driven around the yard every couple of months and now it's mine. Progress pics

Looks to be in pretty good shape. Did you get your subframe from Porterbuilt yet?

It would be cool if you made an install video. That way novice guys could see if it is beyond their skill level.

Re: my 56 hydromatic build

I'm still asking questions myself. Del is gonna give me some advice on his install and I will put it on the board for everyone else. Now I just have to open up a lemonade stand to fund my A-arm purchase.

Welcome to this part of the board.
Looks like a real clean truck to start with.

Re: my 56 hydromatic build

I have added some pictures to show where to mount the Porterbuilt subframe once you have measured and cut your frame. The arrows point to the holes that actually match up to holes in PB subrame. I still need to clean up my frame cuts.
