Tire options 15x8 rally

Hey folks, how about some pics of different rallys and tires. Trying to see which would be the best look for me. From what I heard the original tire size is 225 75 15. But how about other options like 265 75 15?

Re: Tire options 15x8 rally

I run 215 70 15 on 15 x 7 rallies up front. 275 60 15 on 15 x 8 rallies out back. IMO this gives the truck a nice rake.

Re: Tire options 15x8 rally

i see a trend...
I agree with the above posts - for a staggered setup with a slight rake, I really like ledzepp's approach. And for all 4 the same, prefer 255/70/15s all the way around.
I'd only go with a 60 on the front if the truck is lowered - and that clearly looks great on xmitsu10's truck.

Re: Tire options 15x8 rally

Anyone have a pic of the 275/60 on an 8 inch rim? Looking to see sidewall bulge as it is what I'm planning to run on my longbox.

I want to run one of these setups with 8" wheels and same size tires all around. Are there any clearance issues with tires or wheel in these sizes?

I have the P255/70R15 Cooper Cobras mounted on 15 x8 Rallys on all 4 corners on my stock height 72 longbox and no issues.

Thanks guys. I had heard there may be an issue with wheels rubbing on the control arms with an 8" wheel. No issues there either?

Are you running 15 x 7 or 15 x 8? Did you use a dropped spindle in front and coil in the rear? Are you running stock shocks and panhard bar with your set up? I just want drop mine a hair and level it out and keep my 255/70's on the 8 inch rallys.

Thanks for the info. So you used a drop shock on the rear and stock shock on the front and used the stock panhard bar, right? After seeing your truck I think this is the way I am going to go with mine. It'll drop it a touch and level her out good.

Wow, this truck is beautiful! I am thinking of running the same tire/wheel set up on my 86 Silverado...what is your lowering set up? I was thinking of going simply 2"/2".
Thanks!

Re: Tire options 15x8 rally

Apolgies all, I am brand new here and feeling my way through. My previous comment was for "xmitsu10".

I like all the trucks on here and wish to own a 72 shortbed one day. For now, I will be working on my 1950 3100 shortbed and 1986 Silverado shortbed.

Thanks for "listening" and happy building!

RFC, welcome to the forum.

XMITSU can answer this himself, but that looks like a 4/6 drop to me. I have a 4/6 with the same size tires 255/60/15. If you run these without a big drop, you'll see a lot of space between the fender and tire.

Thanks alot Sklptrljay, I really appreciate that!

Wow, 4/6 huh? A 2/2 won't do much of anything for me then...thanks for the education!
