Very nice truck but he should have spent 30,100 and put some hubcaps and a transfer case knob on it.

Is the $30K supposed to impress us or scare us? He may well have spent that much, but at that price, I'd be expecting to see a powdercoated frame, wheels, and something more than Krylon orange under the hood.

Also, when he taped off the wheels to squirt them, it looks like he left them on the truck... unless those are hand painted lug studs as well

I think that was canadian dollars he spent
Maybe he bought all those nos parts off of ebay.
He spent a bunch of his dollars at the texas ebayers that sell all that cheesey chrome plated parts.
The doors are off a earlier truck (inside screw under vent window missing)
Someone either stole the shifter knob and the ash tray or he sent them out to be chromed.
Wrong door panels for a 72 model truck.

Have fun

He needed to spend the extra 150 or so dollars and buy a new rear bumper/right taillight trim also....

One thing to remember, i you are paying some one est to restore your truck, it can add up REAL quick.
With a couple odd items (and some butt ugly door panels) that does seem to be a pretty nice truck.

is that the correct steering wheel for 72 GMC?!?!? I noticed the dings in the trim and the rear bumper, not worth 30k to me... and the chrome door panels leads me to ask the question if he can see well enough to drive that thing in daylight, id be blind if i was him!!!!

Maybe he does have $30,000 in it.I doubt anyone I know would pay that for it.I think tennman's truck is nicer and he prolly has $30,000 or more in his and it's already a show winner. If you price labor in it $30,000 is prolly close on that one but I doubt he'll ever get it out of it.

It is a decent truck but the only way it has $30,000 into it would be from the mechanic that owns it to have hi-balled his hourly rate when he did the work on it to convert if from half ton to 3/4 ton. There are too many things on it that were done on the cheap, quick side that makes it look more like it was thrown together so they could try to make a quick buck by jumping on the popularity band wagon of these trucks.

NO

He may have spent 30K but he got a 10K job~! No letters on the Hood, Crappy painting in many places, bed not refinished, wrong year stearing wheel, dents galore. Too much money spent on chrome, though some is nice. I kinda like the chrome door panels, but not for my taste. Bumper bolts? Shift knob? Gas tank cover? A 15K truck at best~! IMHO Ski*

it wasnt a frame off? he didnt do the rockers... they are still original... said cab mounts look good? havent been replaced? rebuilt engine? i would expect a 454 or 502 for 30k invested. he might have bought a bunch of trucks to do this one and is counting the price of all those? i would expect some 24" boyds or intro or billet specialties wheels for 30k invested. custom console maybe. some mud tires that would fit the 24" wheels...

Thumbs down C'mon.....

I've got about $5k in mine, and it sure as hell don't look like this!
I believe he spent $30k on it; lots of stuff looked brand new, but the guy he paid $30k to do it only spent $10k to do it!!

How many of you guys that have restored one made one of the first projects the undercarriage? I did too....What's this??

I hope Brett doesn't mind (Smooth68), here's his truck. This is what a $30,000 truck would look like.
