putting power steering on 71 250-6

hey knew to the board and was wondering if you guys could help me out with a quick ?
I am trying to put power steering on a 71 250-6 already have the box but the only brackets I can find are 77 bolt on the block fine but none of the pulleys line up the later model water pump is longer and the balancer needs changed wich is were the proplem lies will the later model balancer work and how the hell do I get it off as I see no holes for my puller?

your best bet would be to find a car/truck with the complete setup and get it all.

I did the switch also............... really simple, be you might have to notch the bumper bracket, because the box will hit it............. You have the wrong brackets and pump.............. try getting one off a 68-72 six cylinder............. after those years things start to change for the worst as far as interchangebility

the box I have is off of a 70 and I have a pump from the same truck but could not find any of the rest of the older stuff so I am taking all the stuff off of a 76 pump mounting brackets etc. not sure if the pump will work with the older box but I guess I'll find out the only thing I have left to find is the balancer which I wouldn't think would be hard to find but it is.
