got a'nutter question....

ball joints ,....both upper and lower's....is the upper joint riveted on from factory and the lower one's pressed in from fact. ?correct me if i'm wrong,trying to line up all the parts/tools needed to complete my front end rebuild.(tie rods,adjusters,idler arm,ball joints,wheel bearings,pitman arm) to go along w/ the dropped coils(3"frt. 4"rear) from mothertruckers.also, what holds the rear coils in place once the rear axle is on jack stands.....is that where the coil cups come into play, as far as holding the top of the coil to the frame,and the lower cup to the trailing arm?? just trying to clarify is all.thanks for any and all replies...... (had to use the new one)!!!

Factory uppers are riveted. Lowers are pressed in. Replacement uppers come with bolts to reinstall, lower replacements require a press.

I removed my lower a-arms and broght them to a machine shop to remove old and install new lower b-joints.

Yes, the rear spring are held in place by those cups.

The lower pressed ones can be a pain. I agree with CNPE that unless you have a large press, a machine shop is the place to go for this.
