This is a set of lowering brackets for 1973 thru 1987 Chevrolet and GMC 1/2 ton truck, Suburban and full size Jimmy and Blazer. These brackets relocate the axle on top of the leaf springs, lowering the rear of your ride approx 5 inches. Quick, simple and inexpensive way to get down. New, $40.00 shipped for the pair. hey really dumb question man, but how exactly do these work? im sorry i just cant seem to figure it out, i can keep the stock mounting plate ontop and this slides under it and use the u-bolts to tighten the leafs to it?

Hey there. Not a dumb question at all. The bracket sits on top of the leaf springs. The axle drops down into the open end of the bracket. The u bolts go over the axle and down through the plate, which is now below the leaf springs. Pretty simple, not at all complicated. Thanks, Fred.

Do these center the wheel in the wheel well or is the wheel still pushed offset?

With the pilot hole being further towards the front, it compensates so you do not have to shorten the driveshaft. Wheel will remain in same relative location in the wheel well, or at least very close to original position. Thanks, Fred

Do you mean in the location of the wheel well? Not enough that you can even notice. The reason the locating hole is moved slightly foreward is to compensate for the driveshaft angle. Thanks, Fred.
