1969 Gmc vs Chevy fender

I have a 1969 GMC stepside. Is there a difference between the fenders and hood or are they interchangeable?

GMC fenders only work on GMC and 67-68 Chevys. Of course 67 chevys do not have the side marker lights.

Re: 1969 Gmc vs Chevy fender

The difference in the fenders is that 69-72 Chevy fenders don't have holes for the trim next to the grill on the leading edge of the fender. Other then that they are the same. The hoods are different the same way. GMC has a trim along the leading edge. If you are good at welding you can plug the holes and have Chevy fenders and hood. The core support is not interchangable

Re: 1969 Gmc vs Chevy fender

I like the grill and double headlights on the GMC.
My drivers side fender has a dent on the front and rust on the bottom. I was going to look for a fender that is not damaged to replace it but having a hard time locating one for a GMC. Sounds like the Chevy and GMC fenders are the same except for bolt holes for the trim around the grill if I understand you correctly.

The leading edge of the fenders is different. The '69+ CHEVY have a ridge where the grill mounts to. See the difference in this pic.

White fender is a 1969-1972 CHEVY

Blue fender is a 1968 CHEVY or 1968-1972 GMC
