Question Do you use your vent windows?

Just for conversation purposes...I was sitting at a red light in my 69 and got to thinking about the wing windows. Before I quit smoking, I used the driver side religiously but since then, I think it was opened twice!

So lets see how popular the long, gone but not forgotten wing window is today.

I'm sorry they ever did away with them. Efficient way to direct air into the cab, though it adds to the drag coefficient!

Old trucks are like feminine pads, gotta have wings!

If you can get them to turn back far enough they cool your testicles nicely.

Are they supposed to close? New LMC rubber sticks up thickly toward bottom rear. I have to push it down with finger and then close window.

Some of these responces are awsome!
I use mine all the time, either to help with the crappy ventilation system, or to reduce the wind beating me up when i cruise over 45 MPH.
I wish they still had them, but with the aerodynamic shapes the newer cars have, it wouldn't be the same. (ever notice if you just crack the window on a 'modern' car, the wind comes in and beats the crap out of you?)
As a smoker they are awsome too, if I am too busy to grab my cigg from my mouth to flick the ashes...I just blow the ashes in that general direction, and they magicly go out the vent if i am doing more than 30 MPH with the big window rolled up.

I voted no in the poll, but I don't think I've ever used them to their full potential. Which is to say, I don't think I've really used them at all. Hmm, you say they're supposed to deflect air onto you? I'll have to try that out, what with the a/c not working and all

If you have your window down all the way, and you open the vent about 2 or 3 inches, it will deflect the wind off your face, but the air will still venilate your cab real good.

Use the wings ALL THE TIME! The only reason I ever close them is because where I work someone would steal them off my truck.

Yup, and they can also funnel in the occasional bumblebee...

which usually ends up in the same area...

Whoops, yeah I think I got that backwards. Seeing as how the vents open out it would deflect the wind away from you. Thanks LHM for straightening me out.

Now I just have to get out and try that! Darn cold though, I'm sick today, so no driving for me Lonely day indoors.
