The clutch can be had from any auto supply box store, get the HD unit. As for the fan, not sure, I'd probably start with a WTB in the classified section and a local pick a part.

Try a junkyard.... a 7-blade 18" GM fan might not be too hard to find.

You might try to PM member Too Much Stuff. He has parted alot of trucks in the past and is excellent to deal with.

It might be easier buying a fan with clutch than a fan with no clutch. And you'd have a spare clutch unit, just in case.

Re: Best place to buy orig style cooling fan?

Just a thought, but GM removed blades from the later fans. I seem to recall they look asymetrical in the scrapyard.

Maybe the extra blades aren't needed and use power.

My OEM 7-blade is asymetrical. Never thought of it as having blades removed.... I figured it was to break up the harmonics therefore reducing the noise when the clutch is engaged.

The asymetrical 7 blade design is to cut down on noise..
