Starter bolt sizes and shims

Anybody know the correct size bolts to hold the starter? Any specific type of shim? 1971 c10 manual with factory bellhouse with 3 bolt patern.

No shims needed on these. The bolts are 3/8"-16 and I don't remember the lengths.

Thank you very much for the reply, good news on the shims. I have these bolts on the lower two holes, but the one on top and to the outside, closest to the block is a bigger hole and will not let that size bolt bite.

I was wondering if that was a nut and bolt?

I agree with fp1967 ... no shims needed with this type of starter and the bolts are 3/8"-16 thread.

As for bolt lengths, two of them are 1" long and thread into the bellhousing. The upper bolt is 1-3/4" long and goes in from the opposite direction ... in other words, it goes through an unthreaded hole in the bellhousing and screws into threads in the starter.
