I'm gonna start by fixing the rear axle, convert it to power steering, and power brakes.

Welcome Mando. Enjoy fixing it up but enjoy it while you fix it up. You have a great truck there that will last another 44 years.

Welcome to you from east Arkansas. Good plan make it safe, stop and steer, then update/upgrade the suspension. The more projects you can do on it while keeping its driveability is important cause nobody likes a truck as much when it doesn't run. Jim

Re: New here, 69 long bed build

pulled my truck in the shop finally. among other things I'm doing a power steering conversion, switching the alternator to passenger side, replacing rocker panel and cab corner, putting gas tank in bed, and painting motor.

Smile Re: New here, 69 long bed build

so I just bought a short bed and frame. I was planning on cutting my frame and bed floor, buying short bedsides and putting it back together. then I found this on Craigslist. its a 71 ac cab, frame was cut down (I plan on rewelding it) doors are good shape, and it has disc brakes all around. only thing the bed needs is a new step. at 700 bucks I tought it was a good deal. after selling my long bed its running me 550. Im also selling my long bed frame and two doors so in all I paid like 100 bucks
