1969 c10 swb "budget build"

Guys i am new to the forum. i just sold m 70 chevelle to a co-worker as its needs were far exceeding my budget.

I am taking those funds and purchasing a 69 c10 swb that appears to be in above average condition. I am guessing the cab has some hidden rust issues but not visible inside cab or underneath. as i have done what i can to "inspect" it. the box is in good condition too. I will have to take the build in phases as money becomes availalbe. i have prioritized phases that i think will fit into my annual "spend" and not get the wife upset....

1st phase-suspension upgrade, CPP 3/4 drop, clean and por15 frame. wheels/tires. have 18" wheels from chevelle but are 5x4-3/4 bolt pattern wondering if transdapt wheel adapters will be sufficient(safe) to use these wheels on the truck. 245/45/18 F and 275/40/18 Nitto tires

2nd-big brake kit from cpp 12"F/13" rear

3rd phase-LS 5.3 swap/4L60E. i have the 5.3 but not ready to swap in until i can get all the parts. Do F-body camaro 1999-2002 ls headers work in a truck application. i found a set on craigslist for $100.00

4th phase-body and paint

5th phase-interior procar seats, dakota digital vhl guages, carpet, dashpad etc.

I will post some pics after i get the truck home. As you can see this will be a slow build mainly due to funds. Phases may get bumped around if funds come quicker than anticipated.

I learned my lessons on the chevelle of biting off more than time and money allowed. So this build will be more planned and reserved.

Re: 1969 c10 swb "budget build"

So i posted the pics, it appears to have been mostly restored at an earlier time. So either they did it right or it is filled with bondo.....time will tell.

I think i have a decent foundation. unlike my chevelle, i had car fever when i bought that one.

truck parts are considerably more affordable than chevelle sheetmetal.
