1972 k10 swb

ive had this truck now for 10 years dad bought it for me when i was 13. iv changed m mind about a million times on how i wanted to build it and still am havin a hard deciding on what route to go. so i just kinda started droppin money into it to have it still sit not running in my driveway for the last year. so far i have built the numbers matching block it has a forged crank flat tops vortech heads and a mild cam. runs great btw. i put a 700r4 in it and we were on the road after it sat for 3 years after i got out of school. this trans lasted about 1000 miles so while i was on deploment my dad took the truck to advanced transmissions in sacremento, ca (shop that built the trans) to have it repaired under warenty. i had rebuild my transfer case at the same time (wich i was charged for and 99% sure they didnt touch cause the same seal is bad with no miles on it) when m dad picked the truck up the rearend blew up. so i bought a parts truck that was to nice to part out i ended up driving that till i saved up the money to rebuild the rear end how i want. finally got it all back together about 9 months after my dad picked it up from the tranny shop and went to drive it for the first time in over a year and transmission is completly shot. so i doubled my money on my parts truck and i bought another parts truck. heres what i got for 3500 bucks
1989 suburban with
468 bbc ballanced and blue printed with edelbrock heads and turbo city tbi dynoed at 353 hp at 5000 rpm and 493 ft/lbs tq at 2000 rpm
it has a built th400 with a np241 passenger drop tcase
and a gear vendors over drive unit
the suburban was built in 1996 and has 20k in engine and trans/overdrive and i have all receipts for this build too rest of truck is pretty clean so if any one is looking for parts let me kno
so my newest plan is my 72 is getting all of the goodies out of the burban and i take my time and do the build the right way and my nova will get the engine out of the 72 i will be posting pics of the build in and hoping that b doing so i can stay motivated in finishing it before moving on to the next project.

Engines out of the donor truck and on my engine stand. Plus I sold the front clip and a 383. I doubled my money on my 383. So that means I got project money !!!

Re: 1972 k10 swb

Trans tcase overdrive is out. Wireing harness is out for my power locks, ecm, overdriveunit, and new fuse block, just a few more things and its off to the scrap yard for the suburban. I'll probably start making my new wireing harneses next week and pulling the engine and trans on my 72.

Hi, is the interior of the Burb blue? If so are the front buckets for sale? In good condition? Please let me know either way.

Re: 1972 k10 swb

wow, nice donor... I'd use the entire drivetrain and springs out of that burb...

BTW, there is a 4x4 build section. One of the moderators can move it for you if you want.
