To truly own a blazer

To truly own a blazer and bask in its glory is a tremendous thing as well a feat. how many of us can say we had one or owned one. its the lifestyle of few and the passion of less. im blessed by my truck and its forever changed my life for the better. i strive to make a rare vehicle better everyday because i choose to. And why? because i love it and cherish it and all the features it was embellished with. We should set a day known as blazer love day to embark on are mission of passion for such a limited run and thank the forums for all they have given back, from idea's to new innovations we've learned so much and to the guys blazers we've awwwwwwed at and the guys we've gawked at, this is for us, this is life as we know it, so i say cheers to us blazer owners and good fortune to the next because were the the Small and proud few who love the past and cant wait to see what the future presents

It's the one vehicle I've always been drawn to. Not really sure why but I just think they are cool. I had a 70, which I regrettably sold. It rode like a dump truck, but I loved driving it more than my brand new pickup. I just picked up a 1990 Jimmy. Don't think it's quite as cool as the first gen, but I really like it and am looking forward to fixing it up and enjoying it. I plan on keeping this one for a long time and hopefully will find another first gen to add to the collection at some point down the road.

I saw a first gen blazer when I was 16 and I remember saying.."I'm gonna have one of those one day".. many years later and other vehicles restored.. I've worked my way into restoring a 72 blazer....alot of my friends that are restoring muscle cars wonder why I'm putting so much money into a car that tends to not be popular with the public...I just say...Once your a first gen blazer guy...everything else seems to be a waste of money..lol.. I know that the amount of money I'm putting into this will be way more than it will be ever be worth on paper..but I owe it that 16 year old kid...

Several years ago, after I returned from Iraq, my wife said it was time for me to get the vehicle I really wanted. I gave it a lot of thought, and looked at cars like a 72 Cutlass convertible (which I would still like to own someday) and decided that, out of everything there was out there, I wanted to have a Blazer.

Nothing has made me change my mind yet.

I had an auto repair shop for 26 years. A customer had a 72 that she had us service and repair. Over the years I kept asking her to sell it to me cause she was driving it less and less. About a year after I closed it and started my current trailer business, she drove it in and handed me the title! She had a friend to take her home and that's how I ended up with such a COOL ride!

I'm just finishing up installing a crate engine and plan to have a fun summer with it.

Thanks to you I went and bough my K5 a new battery and will drive it to work tomorrow. (Haven't driven it since summer) Only kink in the plan is it's gonna be one very cold morning drive since my soft top is installed but in safari mode.

A little inspiration goes a long way, sometimes when im mad or frustrated that that one part or bolt wont break loose i give up and come here to find my will to keep trying at it and when its done the sense of accomplishment is astounding to me....keep trucking guys

I keep wanting another Blazer. My squarebody was a blast top drive and always got a ton of looks. Soon I will have another.

You have inspired me to get my a$$ in gear and get my shop rearranged and back to working on mine. I painted the frame and the axles, mounted them to the new springs and it has been sitting.....outside of all places. The motor trans and transfer case are ready to be installed also. I had a little girl 15 months ago and moved about 5 months ago. Ive been out of state for various reasons to east coast ,mid west and north west in the past few months. Needless to say i'm broke but i have plenty to do and a stock pile of parts. I've bit off more than i can chew with this project, but i'll continue to chip away at it. Thanks for the motivation, glad to be part of the few. Cheers

I feel very fortunate to be twenty years old and own a 1972 Blazer. There was a day in 1972 where a GM plant worker came into work and put my blazer together. There was a day when the original owner picked her up from the dealership and drove her home for the first time. There has been many experiences in my Blazer the past 42 years that i will never know about. But the great thing is that i am creating memories in it every weekend and the fun keeps going on. I look at these trucks as time capsules and we are the care givers of them. We are all very fortunate to own these great trucks!

2 weeks ago I honked the horn and something blew. Now it won't start. I was ready to set fire to it but after reading this I think I'll get back into it. Gotta be something I can fix.
I'm old and I've had a lot of vehicles. This is the one I really enjoy driving.

I got mine when i was 18 and never looked back....its truly has changed my life, from the new part to the next part im proud and grateful to be a 23 yr old who owns a piece of history and can share my life experiences with my family (dad and brother own a 72 blazer each)

Good news, me too - new inspiration is the best, finding that itch to continue is key and the best feeling in the world, its waiting on you and looking upon you for the next step. Restore or drive im glad your using a blazer - We all are

get the ? alot about my truck.....i say this and that and still get ?.... its about who you know and what you know not the typical consumer..... its funny also because i get rundown alot for offers on my blazers alot ( more this year then ever for some reason) like i said passion of few and glad your 1 of +-
