1970 blazer 350 Distributor swap.

I have a 1970 blazer and am beginning to change a few things. I got a great deal on an almost new Accel HEI replacement distributor with a super coil mounted on top of the cap. It's the larger diameter HEI GM version. Now that I am looking at the engine I am wondering if there is enough clearance for it? Anyone able to get one installed without altering the firewall?

Re: 1970 blazer 350 Distributor swap.

I had one in mine for awhile, had just enough room to get my fingers between the distr. and firewall...

Re: 1970 blazer 350 Distributor swap.

I have a GM HEI in mine. It's tight, but it fits.

When I first put it in, there was a body bolt (pointed end) coming through the firewall that shorted one of my wires. Once I rerouted the wires, I didn't have any problems.
