Shorty c10

I picked this C10 back in November of last year.

[IMG][/IMG]

I just want to build a daily driver. I'm going to keep the factory paint. I'm a fan of the patina. Plans are clean the interior up. Lower the stance and some clean up the engine compartment. Picture time.

[IMG][/IMG]

Suspension 4.5/6 Spindles spring and flip kit.

Bed bolts had to be cut off.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Bed is off. Pressure washed the frame.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Dropped Shorty off to a buddy of mines shop. Had urethane bushing installed spindles and c-notch welded in.

Re: Shorty c10

Got Shorty back to the house. But the bed back on. Swapped the 2 inch on the driver's side with a 1 inch. Truck ride's nice. Had to remove the inner fender wells. Top of the tires were rubbing bad. We'll fab some up at a later date.
Also while the bed was off had another buddy fab up some exhaust from the manifolds back. Used flowmaster 40's and dumps in front of the rear end.

Driver's side before spring swap

[IMG][/IMG]

Spring swap and rear spacer's installed

Dashmat was faded. Sprayed it Tan and added a seat cover.

Order some Brown carpet for the floor, kicks and lower door panels. I'll just scuff and paint the original door panels.

Re: Shorty c10

tintbox,

Looks nice. What year is the truck? What manufactures did you choose for your drop parts? I just won a 1978 shorty and was doing the same type of drop.

Re: Shorty c10

Truck is a 1986. I got the kit from Summit. It's a Mcgaughy's 4.5/6 kit with summit racing drop shocks.

Re: Shorty c10

Yes sir. On the front I had to use a one inch drop spring on the driver's side and a 2 inch on the passenger side. It had a "lean" to it when I got it.

Re: Shorty c10

What size tires are you running? I know you said they rubbed in the front. Did they rub in the back?

I'll post some pictures later of the motor. We replaced the original intake and carb with elderbrock peices. Also deleted most of the emissions crap too.

Arg! I totally missed that! You'd think if anybody would have noticed that it would be me.

Tintbox - is it a V6 or a V8?

Chrome body side molding is kind of unusual for a Custom Deluxe, too. Does it show B85 on the SPID?

Insulation under the carpet. For something cheap. It's definitely effective.
