6 lug wheels let's see what you have

I have a 1969 step side I'm working and trying to decide if I should switch to 5 lug wheels or keep the 6 lug set up. What do people have for six lug wheels.

I'll be running Torq thrust st's. Clear coat was peeling on the machined lips, so I stripped them down, sanded, and polished to a mirror shine

What size tires are you running? I have the same wheels in chrome.

22 inch GM Transport/Transit Rims with '52 caps. Actually have an ad for some extra sets of them in the MISC Classified too.

Those are awesome! When you say transit rims I'm guessing gm ships their new trucks with them?

Do the 52' caps fit on those wheels without any modifications?

I ordered them thru jegs, mine are the 68 series, which mean chrome. You can look at wheel vintiques web site or daves rally wheels, Then you can choose the center cap you like. Hope this helps.

Dell72 the wheels have clips installed to accept the '52 caps. All of the old school caps require clips to attach them to the wheels.

Re: 6 lug wheels let's see what you have

I had the same dilemma, and after shopping wheels I decided it made no sense to stay with the 6 luggers. 5 lug wheel choices were infinite in comparison and while the 6 spoke wheels look OK, the 5 lugs look awesome IMO.

My wheels are Summit Legends which they do offer in a 6 spoke/lug configuration but here is my thread hijack 5 lug converted 69. The disc conversion was $100 less for 5 lug 63-70 setup and I used that cash to go towards a 72 rear axle I got for $150. My truck is leaf spring so a little harder to come by item than if you had a coil truck.
