clutch rod boot

I just talked to the guy I buy my aftermarket parts from and was looking for a new clutch rod boot that goes in the fire wall and he told me he doesn't sell them any more because they are all junk and will rip or tear within a week after you install them. was wondering if any one has had this problem with a aftermarket boot? and if anyone can tell me where to buy a good one at.

Re: clutch rod boot

sub'ed
I see Brothers and LMC has them, shaped the same. LMC about half the cost. I need one as well but only to act as a grommet for my ECM harness

Re: clutch rod boot

Havent had an issue yet. Installed it on the fire wall with black sealer to hold it firm and let it sit over nite. Installed the rod w/ a little vaseline as it was a tight fit. You can install boot and rod same time if ya chose. The boot being coned shape, i pushed up the shaft as not to "bottom it out" with the rod extended. No issues. Hope that can help someone. Purchased at Classic parts.

Re: clutch rod boot

GM still sells them. Just bought 2 sets couple months ago. You would be amazed at how much they still sell.
