My Flatbed Dually ('84 K20)

Hi guys and gals, here is my current project truck.

1984 Chevy Custom Deluxe 20
350 engine
4 speed manual trans
4WD
Dual wheels

We have had this truck almost 2 years now and we haven't really done anything with it, it ran OK but had a bunch of small issues that made it non reliable. I have been working on it for a couple of months now because I was tired of seeing it sit. Not much has been done yet because I only work on it as I get the spare cash. So far I have replaced the sparkplugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, battery, air filter, and fuel filter. I have been driving it around the pasture for awhile and it does OK. I bought a carburetor rebuild kit but have not yet rebuilt the carb. Also have a new water pump but have not installed it yet, waiting to get new hoses and belts as well as coolant. Oh and it is a Dually, it has the same hubs and axle it left the factory with (14 bolt with 3/4 ton SRW hubs) but someone had installed longer studs and put dual wheels on it. They fit good, about the same as a cab chassis Dually, kinda narrow. But anyway that's the story on it, here's some photos of it and my other project trucks. I will post updates as I work on it.

Re: My Flatbed Dually ('84 K20)

Not much progress, Im working on about 4 different trucks at one time so progress is slow on some. I did hook it up to my project gooseneck just for laughs. Sits funny because the latch is messed up and wont allow it to go on the ball the entire way and also the rear wheels arent on. Truck starts good in cold weather, seems to smoke a lot tho in any weather too but its smells like it may be running rich or something, not sure. It doesent help that the exhaust is rusted out lol

how do you hook up rear shocks on a 2500 with a dually real axle? did you install 1 ton brackets?

No, its a 3/4 ton rear axle and hubs but it has longer studs and dual wheels. It is exactly the same axle that came from it when new, hubs and axles and all but the studs are longer. The duals are about as wide as a cab chassis dually, really skinny and narrow.
