Water in tranny???
I have a '68 with a 250, 3 on the tree. I pulled the side plug to check the gear oil in tranny, & it was bad looking. So I decided to pull the bottom plug to drain it out & refill with fresh oil. When I pulled the plug, a good 8-10 oz. of clean water poured out, then the nasty brown gear oil came. Is this normal? ....truck has been sitting for over 20 years...

Re: Water in tranny???
Entirely possible. Years of condensation and who knows, maybe it was driven through a crystal clear creek the day before it was parked ???

Re: Water in tranny???
could only be two things. either the tranny was under water or condinsasion can,t spell that one. some of the trannys did not have a breather on top. might be alittle rust in there. If ya get a chance to look inside might be a good idea.

He would drain out the old oil and fill em up with an ATF and run em about 20 miles. Drain all that out and be good to go.
