spid sheet/options

Is there a way to look up my trucks options from the vin number? The spid sheet on the glove box is not readable.

No, the VIN will only provide you with very basic information. Are you asking for general purposes, or are you trying to find out if your truck came with specific options?

GM Heritage Center only goes back to about 1976 model year for US built/sold vehicles.

However, GM of Canada can go back farther for either vehicles built in Canada or built in the US for Canadian useage.

Either of those conditions apply to you?

Without a build sheet or SPID label your trucks original configuration is lost in the wind. There's ways to narrow down what it probably came with, but nothing concrete.

Re: spid sheet/options

I had asked this question a while back, and got the same answers. Unfortunately, and unreadable SPID really leaves us high and dry.

You may have a BUILD sheet (similar to SPID) for the vehicle. Generally, they can be found as a piece of paper entwined in the springs of the seat - either underneath or in back. A readable build sheet is probably the next best thing. But... they too deteriorate with time.

And, there are guys who can make a new "identical" SPID sheet for your car. It does not authentic it, but looks good if you in fact know exactly what it came factory with.

Hope that helps bud!

Re: spid sheet/options

highly recommend you post a hi-res pic of the unreadable SPID on here - you'd be surprised what some of the folks here can pull off of it, even severely deteriorated one, especially with image software. Worth a shot.
