Re: 4 link bar on AD

That's great many thanks Richard, looks quite similar to mine. I can see now how it should be. The po has fitted shocks that use 1/2" bolts in the lower eye. He got round this by welding a 1/2" bolt into the spacer & put a 16mm thread in the other end. I didn't find this out until the weld failed partly due to touch much of the weld being machined away. I was driving round a slight bend at about 30mph when I felt 1 side of the truck drop.

No damage at all?

Heidts sells also a kit, see website link (instructions)

Last time I drove the truck is almost 15 years ago....

Re: 4 link bar on AD

Chevy-49 your four link and shock bolts appear short? or is it just the picture. I've always believed thread engagement should be at least the depth of the nut?

Re: 4 link bar on AD

It's the angle of photo, there's a good 3/4" of thread past the nyloc.

Yes you are right seems to be too short, I did not tighten the nuts and bolts (Nylon Insert Lock Nuts)

For now is just a rolling chassis.

I will remove the axle for paint etc.

Thanks that you noticed it.....

Re: 4 link bar on AD

Are any of these 3600's? From what I remember of trying to nail down a 4 link for my 3/4 ton, they weren't interchangeable with 1/2 tons.
