I love freebies, sort of maybe

A buddy of mine donated these fenders to the cause. Pretty straight but have some rust issues along with a much larger issue. What do you guys think of these custom beauties ha ha

Someone spent some time on the fabrication on that install. I like them. If your not going for stock they beat most of the other lights I have seen. I would love to have them.

I think they look good, someone spent a lot of time putting those Dodge van lights in there.

Re: I love freebies, sort of maybe

maybe I need to renew my subscription so I can discuss things farther. they actually are well built the passenger side has some rust looking bubbles under the paint above the light. i'm really still on the fence about them I like the idea just not sure if I like these lights.

I think there is a lot of potential there. In general I think those tail lights are really well executed.

I'm actually liking them. And they should be easy and cheap to find replacements if ever needed

Looks like the south end of a elephant with blue dots.My$.02 . IMO someone is a good fabricator not so much a designer.

It wouldn't be too hard to cut those out and put in fresh metal there to make them back nice again. that is what I would do with/to them. Jim

I don't like multiplying by 0. at the end of the day i'm just trying to get rid of that short box spare tire fender without spending any money which isn't easy to do but i'm patient.

I think they look good, have seen a lot worse for sure and also a lot of just the same as others, they are different in a good way.

Re: I love freebies, sort of maybe

have quite a bit of work to do to them i'm going to leave the taillights as is for now and just focus on the rust. the passenger side is rusted threw on top of the fender and about the taillight. drivers side the flanges are good but a lot of rust on the bottoms front and back. i'm hoping we can salvage enough patches out of my passenger fender to patch these ones up. i'm not willing to chop up my drivers side for patches it's an extremely clean fender i'm sure someone out there with a short step will want it for there's eventually.

Re: I love freebies, sort of maybe

these fender's are toast they have about 1/4 inch of bondo all over them and they bondo'd over a bunch of rust above the passenger side tail light(i'm pretty sure I could punch a hole with my fist and i'm a wimp). i'll get some new pic's up but it's really bad. I've never welded sheet metal before so I might do some practicing on these since the price was right.

Like you said maybe you can use them to cut up for some patches for your other fenders and if you can get that much use out of them then great.

i'm sure many out there could certainly fix them, I've never tried so i'll guess we'll see. was hoping to get them out of the truck and get some more pic's but didn't get a chance. there's plenty more holes to fill as well.

Re: I love freebies, sort of maybe

Maybe you can use the one to fix the spare tire cutout on the one you have.

a lot of people keep telling me that but i'm not sure I could get myself to modify that spare fender incase somebody else needs it. it's really solid not a speck of rust.

top passenger fender

bottom drivers

bottom drivers

here's how the back side of the taillights looks, i'm guessing they didn't do any welding just used some kind of seam sealer then lots of bondo on the other side to mold it in.
