show me your finished painted rocker pics.

I am interested in seeing some finished rocker panel pictures, how many fill over the ends of the rockers where they meet the pillars to make a smooth look and how many leave the ends visible? and If you leave the ends visible do you trim it out with seam sealer?

Re: show me your finished painted rocker pics.

I only have one truck [plus my old convert LS pontiac] in the shop it is nice to have walking room around them. I do have them lined up outside to come in the shop though. Dad said three to chose from on what to work on next I told my son he is even counting the 9 old ones that need work

Re: show me your finished painted rocker pics.

Thanks Boog come over sometime and we can hang in my shop. I had once thought of hosting a shop day where members could come and we could pitch in to help on different projects for the day.[But i can't get cleaned out enough for it]

Re: show me your finished painted rocker pics.

OK. I'll play. The file dates on these are 2004 so I guess I've had them on there a while. And I never thought of smoothing them in like above. Or taking pictures with the doors open.

Those are some nice looking, seamless rockers. I never thought of doing that. I simply cut out the old and welded in the new like the general did. One side needed inner rocker work, one side did not. BTW, this was my first outwardly noticeable welding job.

bowman39 - the before picture is what an original paint rocker looks like in Minnesota.

Mine were rust free (go figure that out on a 48 year old truck) so no one has ever messed with them. This is how the factory did it:

Re: show me your finished painted rocker pics.

No matter whose rocker you get you have to do a little "creative recreations" to the rocker. Mine were tri- plus or key parts I don't remember witch and they are really good pieces I got the cab "kit" for the truck in the pics I have up in this thread. The rockers still needed to have some pie cuts made and a little hammering with a body hammer to make it do what i wanted it to do. You might be able to just stick it up there and weld it in but i don't roll that way being a body man type guy and having the time in building the wrecks that i do I want the fit as good as possible. that is why I made some cuts to get it to fit[and look] just a little better

x100 - I had to pie cut, hammer, cuss, pie cut, cuss, then hammer again, and drink quite a bit of Miller Lite to get mine to fit right.

That looks awesome screaminchevypickup - I should've let you do mine and just drank the beer and let you do all the hammering, cutting, and cussin'.

Re: show me your finished painted rocker pics.

I was looking at my phone pics about 30 min ago and even have a shot of the pie cuts made. I will try later to get them up so I can share with yall but I am about to leave to go play golf in a few.
I cut mine sure but it wasn't any cussin I had that planned[the cussing not the pie cut] but I did drink quite a few cold drinks[my drink of choice is Diet Coke].
I do have better rocker pics like i said I'll try to put them up later. Jim

Do post the pics Jim when you get a chance. I am ready to put drivers side in, by the way I traded the miller lite for diet coke 7 yrs ago. LOL
