Guy down the road has a 1972 K10 for sale. He wasn't around last night for me to look at it real close. He is asking $1200 for it.

I know it isn't much to go on but do you think it worth that much?

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you're looking for something to fix up or resto, forget it. It's probably rusted beyond repair.

If it's just to drive until it quits, maybe ok. No doubt there's a limited selection of these trucks to choose from in Alaska. BTW, that's not a '72 grille, looks like a '70 or earlier.

The owner is a snowbird and puts this up for sale when ever he is up here. I looked at the truck a couple of years ago but just don't remember what kind of shape the rest of it is in. I didn't make him an offer last time but I don't remember why.

I'm supposed to meet him after work tonight and give it a good look over.

That is good to know about the grill. I would have missed it.

If it runs and drives and is complete that is a pretty good price. Rust is always the biggest factor. If its not rusted up around the windsheild/drip rails then its pretty straight forward to repair.

X2 and it should have disc brakes in the front too

May be a 69 or 70 grill but has 71-72 bumper with the running lights/directionals

Id say go get it. Unless the frame is rusted in half, be a good driver.

I went and looked at it last night.

The good: power steering, power brakes, and factory tilt, it runs, and it has warn hubs. Funny thing I looked at the frame and unless it it rusted under all the grease it didn't look that bad.

The bad: rust through on floor boards, cab corners, rocker panels, cowl, wheel wells in the bed,both doors, dash has been cut up for radio, ignition switch has been ripped out the hole goes to the heater controls now, passenger side door doesn't work, seat is cobbled into it, uses a toggle switch for power and a push button to start it.

The unknown it has two saddle tanks that he said he has never used and didn't have keys for. He has had the truck for a lots of years so I think they are probably rusted out.

I offered him a $1000 cash and he wouldn't take it. Said he had someone coming out from the military base to look at it today. He has my number I'll see if he calls me back.

I forgot see if it had disc brakes.
