Good deal or not

found a 72 2wd blazer with no rust with OK paint, great engine and 700R trans new interior, single wall top for 16900
Deal or No Deal, it sounds good to me. Thought I would ask for opinions. Sorry no photo yet

Re: Good deal or not

Doesn't sound like a deal to me. Would I judge anyone for paying $16,900 for it? Nope.
What are you looking for? If it's a daily driver, and the OK paint is good enough, then it's probably not a horrible deal. If you plan to paint it, I think you can find a better deal.
Find us a picture.

Paint is good enough for a year or two. So daily driver quality. The air also functions.

I think it's a deal. I wouldn't sell mine for $16,900.

Re: Good deal or not

I don't think you could build it for that money, but the paint is a deal breaker for me. He also has a 82 2wd for sale that's clean looking but also has a ugly paint job. He's been trying to sell both of them for quite awhile and hasn't budged on the money.

Re: Good deal or not

Just plan on either a lot of wet sanding and buffing to get those flames off or get the hood, fenders, and doors resprayed for a grand or so. Should be cheap and easy to go to all-white.

Overall, you'll have $18k in it if you respray.

If it's what you want and you have the cash, then what are you waiting for.

Personally, I wouldn't take 2X what I have in mine. Some things just aren't for sale.

Waiting for him to remove the roof so I can check for rust on the windshield header. It looks good most everywhere else.

Re: Good deal or not

Colgad, Check the rust, then go buy it! If no rust, good interior, good motor and trans and working AC then 16,900 is a good price. Plus it's already got a slant nose. Have you taken it on a test drive? I hope to see it at our next meet!

I agree, I did drive it and it wanders a bit but other than that seemed fine.
So when is the next meet??? Because the Jimmy wants to go with the C10 too!

Re: Good deal or not

Colgad, Awesome news! Glad you got it. It looks great, can't wait to go for a ride in it, for hoagies. You drive, I'll buy.
Are you going to repaint it, repaint over flames, or just leave the flames? I actually like the flames. I used to have a Hobie Cat 16 with flames on both pontoons. No matter how much I sailed, the flames never went out.
I need to call Mr. Handy and tell him were going to meet at your place first time, his place second time and your place third time. I heard from Captain R. He and his wife will be here middle of Oct, so were looking at end of Oct. to beginning of Nov. for the first meet. I'll get a date set and send out the invites soon. Sound good?

It will need painted but I have too much on my plate right now so I am keeping it just like it is and my plan is go use it for the 2016 HotRod Power Tour. It is a perfect ride for that trip. What i would like is what they call a fiberglass half top for it. So if you see one let me know, $1000 is my budget number so keep your eyes open!
The getogether sounds great. Whenever is good for everyone is good for me.
Dave
