30 Years

Sunday marked thirty years that I have owned this 69 GMC. I reminded my wife that we only have 28 years...

Re: 30 Years

I like the fact that it still looks pretty much the same, minus a few accessories from back then.

Re: 30 Years

I love hearing this. Good for you. I wish I could say the same. These trucks had more original owners for that kind of time than any other vehicle I know. These trucks were built to be loved!

Thanks for sharing! Is it original paint? Has there been any rust repair?

Re: 30 Years

Congrats!

The irony is that (to me) it looks like an "old mans truck" in the early days pic with all the accessories, the recent pic looks like something a young guy would drive.

I've owned mine for 18 years. Mine looks NOTHING like it did when I got it.

Thumbs up Re: 30 Years

Congrats on the 30 year marker! It's nice to hear some other's have kept their rides and not sold them.

I will have my 30 years next March for the 71. I wouldn't sale it for any amount unless my family was in need. My 71 and I have seen a lot of miles together and it's seen a lot of mods also over the years.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: 30 Years

Great history! Amazing pictures!
Glad the truck dropped all those accessories, much better looking now, the truck that is!

What work has the exterior had done over the years?

Re: 30 Years

Congrats! Great looking truck.

I'm sure there are a lot of older folk that wish they'd had the foresight to keep at least one of their first vehicles -me included.
