CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

I'm wanting to replace the Master/booster on my truck and am looking at this CPP one. Has anyone installed one on their truck and if so any pros or cons about it will be appreciated.

I haven't installed it but if you want to deal with them perhaps the best way is to purchase from Summit Racing.

Re: CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

Thanks for the heads up on the bad service from CPP. I have read threads about that and am aware and would still like to know if anyone has used one of these Masters Cylinders.

I installed my CPP master in 2006...10 years and 15,000 miles later it is still stopping my truck without any problems.

Re: CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

I didn't purchase the set up you are looking at, but I do have experience with this set up.http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...ck/6772BBD.htm

1. The first set up had the wrong firewall bracket and booster.....returned.
2. Second set up...booster leaked and the master leaked.....returned.
3. Third set up, I gave up on the Master and purchased Wildwood. Still using the booster but... the check valve leaks and the booster leaks. I replace the check valve and that helped. I will not mess with another booster, I'll replace with anyone's else.

Also, I purchased a steering column. Bad wiring had to repair.
Also, purchased a panhard bar. Had to cut it apart and increase the bend radius to allow the diff cover to be removed, then weld and paint.

Now to be fair, the rag joint that I purchased actually fit.

Customer service stinks. I will never, ever, ever purchase anything from this company.

Re: CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

Thanks for the info and thoughts. I think I'll just go with an original type booster/master combo but would like to get a smaller diameter booster. What I don't like about the original replacements is that they are gold in color whereas the originals are black.

I have the one in Z10's post with no issues and close the 35k miles. I have never had a problem thru the ebay CPP store.

I'm betting the reason the customer service is better when using eBay is the fact that you can review their performance for the world to see. It just seems uncanny how many people on this forum have had issues and how few have not.

Off my rant.

Re: CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

Greg, what about a Wilwood m.c.?? A board member told me it was not much more effort than a stock boosted setup. Quality has to be better than CPP..

Took a quick look, summit has them for sure, and someone in Canada must have them too.

Re: CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

If you want to see the Wilwood set up go to my build thread post 292 for photos. Really not much different to install that the CPP style.

I purchased mine on eBay, however Pro Performance can set you up and is a sponsor of this site.

Re: CPP's Master cylinder MCPV-1

Here you go. You'll notice the leaky CPP booster in the background.
