Re: Trunk or treat at Church today

Trunk or treat, I had never heard of it till last night, spoke with the wife who is living in town up north near our farm land, she said yah, they closed off a street in town and people had lined up the cars/trucks and were handing out treats from their vehicles. Guess when the homes are so far away from each other there had to be a better way to get a heavy sack of treats. ;~)

Re: Trunk or treat at Church today

Yeah, I saw signs about it around here and wondered what it meant. Makes sense now, except trucks and SUVs don't have trunks . I figure it's more about providing a safer way to trick or treat?

Re: Trunk or treat at Church today

Getting more and more popular in rural areas. Around here it would take a kids all day to fill up a small bucket. You just cant get to enough houses on foot to make it worthwhile. They did one at the fairgrounds nearby which wasn't big but a lot showed up. Im sure next year it will be many more people. The vol fire dept also setup trick or treating in town and they shut down Main st in Delta.

Re: Trunk or treat at Church today

Halloween was always about walking around the neighborhood going house to house with no guarantee of a full bucket of candy. It was more about the excitement/adventure factor with candy being a big perk. Funny how it became about how much did you get without having to walk too far (in broad daylight). Then parents fight to keep the kids from overdosing on sugar. I understand the safety factor that was not a concern when I was a kid. We had no trick or treating out in the country, so we'd go into town to go with our friends. I did the same for my kids
