Speaking of SPIDS

I saw awhile back that their was someone that made Exact Accurate SPIDS for out trucks... I had the info saved in my favorite list but my computer crashed and I lost all information... Does anyone have that information?...

I want a new SPID made for my Truck to match my original so when I restore my glove box door I can have it accurate...

Re: Speaking of SPIDS

this is very nice.. I would want one with the original options, but would end up ordering one with the options for how I build the truck.

Is it possible to tweak codes? If I do an LSx swap, can the new rpo codes be used with a custom description?

I've seen members on here that have it listed so it's got all the oe codes and then a breakdown of what they've added to their build with custom codes.

My 5.3 is a LM7

I would want LM7 as the code with 325 CU. IN. V-8 ENG as the description

Re: Speaking of SPIDS

I prefer to do them as original as possible but I will add made up options. It's more work for me and gets old real quick discussing how a fake description should look on a label to be "correct!" I offer the correct font and label but if we add made up items to the label it kind of defeats the purpose. Really the same result can be achieve with a vendors blank label and a typewriter for a lot less money. Each additional made up option I add is $8 and not the normal $3, so it can get pricey quick.

Re: Speaking of SPIDS

For novelty SPIDs is there an IBM Selectric ball or something that has a similar font? I'm all out of chain printers this week :-)

You might find something similar but no, you will not find a typewriter that matches the font of the old mainframe printer.

Not uncalled for. You made a strong statement: "I received these Spids... THAY ARE AWESOME!!!!... I compared them to my original 1967 spid and they are EXACT PERFECT replicas.."

How about a picture?

You tell me you saw a beautiful rose, sunset, whatever, I want to see a picture. You don't owe me a picture. But unless you want me to say "I guess I'll have to take your word for it" when you exclaim how beautiful something is, post a picture.

Not snide. Brief.

See now I thought you were talking about two posts, not two SPIDs. Anyway, I didn't mean it snarky, just blunt and brief, and I should have taken greater care.

If I seriously mess up, call me on it, I will apologize. But neither of us did here, so let's move along. Sorry!

If you don't have the spid but you do have the original build sheet can you make a spid off of that?

I'm not exactly sure if you can since I have not found one in my 69 yet but if you do some searching and breaking down the codes you should be able to make one with the SPID code list here. http://outintheshop.com/options.html

Re: Speaking of SPIDS

Jeff has also made superb driver side door stickers for me - the blue ones with VIN and build date. Comes in very handy when replacing a dinged door on an otherwise damage-free truck. Keep up the great work!

Dan - your SPIDs look great. How about a pic of the truck they are made for??
