305 V6 Fuel pump best option? PSI
Looking to redo my fuel lines and add a new fuel pump.
Last ol'timer that saw that setup said it was too much? Said it was just dumping fuel and causing the backfire via carb issue. I think its tuned wrong still... E8012S by airtex is what is in there. Any recommendations for a smoother setup? PSI reg inline or meter? Thanks SK1

I used this one mounted close to the fuel tank; 4-6 psi. It's kinda loud but you know it's working. Use an oil pressure cut-off switch or an inertia switch as well.

The problem I see here if where the pump is mounted. You don't want electric pumps so close to the carb. They like to Push not Pull and you stand a higher chance burning it out where it sits. I'd mount it under the cab on the frame. Mounted mine there and just cut the original line a bit shorter and used rubber fuel line to fill the gap. Makes the pump work alot less.

I'd guess he has the Holley 500 upgrade and the recommended fuel pressure is 5-7 psi.

A gauge will only tell you how much PSI the pump is pushing. The regulator will hold whatever PSI you need. For a Holley... no more than about 6.5 psi.
