1980 chevylift on a 1972 k20

I have a friend that is willing to sell me a lift with leaf springs shocks drivelines and accessories off his 1980 Chevy truck for $400. I was wondering if it would fit on my 1972 Chevy truck. And would it be reasonable to buy it if it were to fit

Front springs on a 73 to 84 are longer than those for a 68 to 72. If the later front springs are used on the earlier model the front axle will sit too far back - steering geometry will be wrong and the rear shackels of the front springs will hit on the frame rails at the slightest bump.

Not to mention the fact that a brand new lift can be had for not much more at all.
