71 Weather Stripping doors & windows

Im replacing all the weather stripping on my 71. I've gotten to where I am ready to reinstall the dooor windows. I have removed the vent window and replaced the rubber. Pain in the rear getting that on, especially in the corner of the vent windw. So the door is empty(vent window and side window removed). I have laid the glass setting rubber inside the sash channel assy. #15 and #16 http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=21
My question is, when I laid the window back inside the sash channel assy it didn't stay in the channel. Do I need to apply window urethane glue between the rubber and the glass?
Secondly when laying the glass inside the sash channel assy, I can't tell how it it suppose to fit in the channel. Window is bigger than sash channel. Do I put the channel back on the Window regulator wheels and then fit it fwd/back once it is in door to see where the window should lie in the channel? #1 http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=20
Thanks James. If needed I can post pics. Let me know.
