69 c10 dash removal

I saw an air dash in the local junk yard, and my question is: are they bolted in or welded in? I removed a dash from a 59 impala and it took me 3 hours.

Found in another forum:

Okay I have the 6 bolts on both sides out but still holding on. Anyone know how to remove it before I resort to taking a dremel with a cutting bit to it.

1 reply:

yeah man the dash is spot welded all across the bottom of the windshield pinch the easiest way to cut it out is after the windshields removed but u can get it out with a 3inch cutoff wheel while the windshields in i would def insit on 5-10 layers of duct tape on the inside of the glass and be carefull but it will work

If you want to find that post, google "chevy c10 dash remove" and scroll down till you see the linke entitled "How do you remove the dash? - C10 Forum"

Re: 69 c10 dash removal

3 bolts on each side then remove the dash pad, cut thru the center of where the pad goes.
If you want the top of the dash that is spot welded to the window pinch weld and it will take you more than a minute.
