Passenger front lower door rust

Drivers door has some rust.

Kinda tough to see but there is a bondo patch on the fender.

Tailgate has some bondo on it also.

The area code is 260
The asking price is $1500. It is alittle hard to tell that but then again not everyone is a semiproffesional photographer

If you have any more questions about it I will try my best to answer them. The doors were locked and I didn't open the hood but I know it runs and drives (have seen it around town). I do not know the guy who owns it, so if you think it is way overpriced don't think you will offend me by saying so.

P.S. It still isn't a Jeep.

Ouch! I can hear that thing rusting clear out here!...but it is a SWB 4x4, so I would buy it, if I could.

Zowie....$1,500 may be a little steep for a rig that rusty. May be worth it for the frame and drivetrain. Now for today's quick geometry lesson....find the parallel lines on this truck

Thanks for posting it whatchamakalit...Jewels make the trip okay?

Rotted cab supports / mounts, bed cross sils, etc. I don't think you'd find much on that truck that would suprise you.

I wouldn't buy it for the frame: it may well be part of the problem. I'd bet that sucker's been airborne once or twice. . . .

Still, as a project (as opposed to a source of parts), it'd be worth something, just for being a shortstep 4x4.

As soon as I read that, the vision of the parking garage guys flying through the air in Cameron's dads '67 Ferrari from Ferris Bueller came into my head.....haha. What a great scene.

Point noted on the frame being part of the issue....if the body's that el-torcho, the frame probably isn't far behind.

OMG!!!

dave, i thought you told me that it was a nice looking truck! that thing is a piece of crap! you should send me a pic before you post next time!

BTW, those are the incorrect stock taillamps, and the rear bumper belongs on a fleetside, not a stepside - that sucker is too large for a rear bumper!

yes, everyone, this is my brother, dave. he loves jeeps at the moment (4x4's esp)... but, i'm gonna have him addicted to these trucks (and this board) in no time! don't worry!

VTKidder, i'm still en route to KC... had a few mishaps - but they werent truck related.... should be there tomorrow morning (friday)...

catchya l8r!
ciao!

I think that truck looks to be mounted on a later model frame anyway or could the body lift be fooling me?...should the frame or bumper brackets stick out that far from the short stepbox? As for the "parallel lines" thing I think it may just be frame flex from being parked on that hill...look at pic #3

If it was closer, I'd have to at least take a look-see, I paid a lot more for a project that is about the same shape.

Pointed noted, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that a hill with that little grade could twist a frame up that much. Maybe if it were up on a curb or boulder.....

One thing we do all agree on is that it's a big 'ol turd.

bingo

By George I think Canadian69.. hit it on the head. Look at rear bumper, rear bumper brackets and front stabilizer bar. Sure you could rig up that stuff on older truck but I bet its a body swap. Would sure hate to see newer body that got trashed!!

Body looks like cab might have been nice one in its day (rear cargo light often indicates more deluxe features inside)

IMO I think it is sitting on a newer frame ! Granted there is no pic's of the frame, but just the way it sits looks strange? IMO Something is not right ! $1500.00 if it is a 1968 frame Yes it is a decent price, I payed $1800 for a frame and bed ! But if it is a newer frame not worth it ! Great beater truck though

good question... i dont know....

the easiest way to find out would be to ask my brother because he lives in that small town.... but unfortunately, he is vacationing in florida this week (lucky guy).... i can ask my mom to look and see if it is still there and for sale, but she is kinda blonde, and would forget, or not even see it if it is in front of her face....

so my suggestion is, if you want to know right now, is to call the phone number on the sign - 260-359-0225... the owner could tell you a lot more about the truck, i'm sure....

let me know early next week if you need to know more, and i'll make sure that my brother will post and let you know if it is still for sale!

good luck!

Thanks jewels, the area code helped me out alot. I will try and give the owner a call. I am presently deployed over seas here, but should be getting home soon. I will try to call and get more info this week.
