Inner Fender well Coating Advice

I just picked up some new front inner fenders. I'm looking for some opinions as to how or if I should coat the inside before I install them. As much as I'd like to keep them painted black, I'm concerned with the practicality of that, since its a driver & not a trailer queen. I don't do gravel roads but inevitably you pick up a rock that is going to be hurled towards the fender well & leave it's impression on it. What do you think as far as what to use & your experiences? Thanks guys!

Re: Inner Fender well Coating Advice

I just use spray in bed liner. It gives a little texture and can be top coated with whatever color you decide on. I use the rattle can stuff oreillys sells. I have been using it for years and it holds extremely well.

Re: Inner Fender well Coating Advice

Thanks for the advice! Because they are so visable(as I'm only planning a 1"x3" drop) I want to keep the texture to a minimum, but a little would be fine. I'm considering epoxy coating first so I have a nice, durable finish inside the engine compartment & can do whatever underneath. Thanks again!
