What shocks for a 1970 C10?

I'm want to replace my shocks on my 1970 c10. It has the original springs and ride height and I don't intend to be hauling any heavy loads. I'm looking for a good shock as close to factory as possible. Can I find a good shock at the parts store are all those junk?

I put Gabriel Coilovers on mine, front and back. They're a little pricey but they ride nice, with no bounce in the back, or dive in the front. They don't exactly look stock, but I went for function over looks.

Re: What shocks for a 1970 C10?

I don't know what was on my truck when I bought it 16 years ago, but I put Monroe Gas-matic LT shocks on per the counter man's recommendation at Advance Auto, and they were much stiffer. I just recently put some Gabriel Classic gas shocks on the rear that I bought from specialtyretail about 5 years ago and they ride very nice. I have a pair of Gabriel Guardians for the front, but I have not put them on yet. My truck has original coil springs as far as I know so they are probably weak.
