66 carb id and question
66 long bed c10. In-line 6, assuming original. Truck runs good but after sitting all winter, I had to put a little fuel down carb to get her to fire. When I did this, I noticed a little seepage from shaft pivot(?). I would assume that means theres air leaking as well? Also would like to do clean up and rebuild on carb. What carb should be on there? I have no reason to believe its not original equipment.
Thanks, John. |

Re: 66 carb id and question
Fuel will run out the shaft when you dump fuel down it. Does not mean there is a problem.

Re: 66 carb id and question
Throttle shafts will leak a little bit, that's normal. If you can wiggle the thing back and forth and actually see that the shaft moves laterally, that's a vacuum leak which may cause some funky idle issues.
They can be repaired but it takes special tools.
