Wheel suggestions:

I have put disc brakes on my 64 short stepper and the wheels will not work. I have kept the 6 lug axles. 15 inch would be preferred. I am wanting polished aluminum so I don't have to deal with rust later. Any recommendations?

Re: Wheel suggestions:

you may have to go to 16 or 17" wheels to clear your new brakes..depending on what brakes you used

Re: Wheel suggestions:

You can stay with 15" wheels if you get disc brake compatible 6 lug wheels. The original wheels on these trucks are not disc brake compatible.

Re: Wheel suggestions:

One option could be 15” 6 lug alu slot wheels. They came in 7” and 8.5” width.
You can search eBay to see what they look like. Also confirm they will work with your specific disk brake set-up, as mentioned above.

Re: Wheel suggestions:

Jeep Wagoneer aluminum slots are cool if your on a budget. They will bolt right on 6 lug.

Re: Wheel suggestions:

Thanks for the opinions. I have small disc brakes so just about any disc compatible wheel should work.

Re: Wheel suggestions:

I just finished disc brake installation and went with rims from Wheelsmith. Got chrome rims with bare centers so I could paint same color as truck. Hub Caps from MobSteel and painted Chevy Bowtie same color as truck.

Rims are 15 inch six lug
